GEN: _FA1 GEN: PLAC Married Bill Cunningham twiceDaisy and her sisters, Velma and Cecil were a trio that went around played for functions. GEN: Daisy played the piano, Cecil played the violin and Velma played the trombone. They were very accomplished and very much in GEN: demand. GEN: ********** GEN: Note that Daisy Cowdin wrote in the 1950's: GEN: As near as I can tell you about the location and date of Mother's and my sister Velmay's date of death, Uncle Bill and I were GEN: married on the 20th of July, 1920, I believe it was on a Monday, just one week from that date Mother had a either a stroke or GEN: heart attack , and fell to the floor. GEN: Dorothy was born on the 10th of May 1911, and during the time I was in bed, Velmay died - don't know the date since I was in GEN: bed 3 weeks. I didn't write home, nor did I hear from them, until after she had died and was buried, I would think the Sexton GEN: could tell you the day of her death. GEN: She did not like her name to end with an A, so she added the letter Y and pronounced it Velmay instead of Velma. You see, my GEN: Dad's first sweet heart was named Velma Gates, and Dad named my sister after her. My sister thought that it was awful and GEN: was disrespectful to Mother. She would not have her name spelled like my Dad's sweetheart. And about my Dad's grave, I don't GEN: even known where he is buried. I believe Mother told me he was buried in the City Cemetery (Salt Lake City), where Velmay's GEN: baby is buried. ![]() Daisy married Weaver. ![]() Daisy next married Alvin Edward Mahaffey before 1900.
